Turbocoopers “Argentinaction Rock” è una vera e propria dichiarazione di intenti. Dal Sud America ecco la nuova faccia dell’ Action Rock. I latini ci propongono un rock and roll infuocato figlio della Scandinavia di fine millennio, tanto quanto dell’ hard rock classico.
Il Disco
Dodici brani dove sono chiari ed evidenti i riferimenti a Backyard Babies, Hellacopters, Gluecifer ecc. Seguendo le orme di chi ha portato in auge questo genere musicale troviamo forte l’influenza di Kiss, This Lizzy, Motörhead ecc. Gli argentini propongono parte del proprio repertorio cantato in lingua madre permettendo di renderli immediatamente identificabili.
Un piglio decisamente punk, quasi hardcore, pervade le ritmiche del disco
Anche se le composizioni sono sempre inclini all’apertura melodica. Nel lavoro sono presenti echi di Social Distortion, Ozzy Osbourne, Ramones, Guns’n’Roses, Sex Pistols.
Allo stesso modo è evidente tutto quello che è stato al di fuori della Scandinavia negli stessi anni dell’ Action Rock. Wildhearts, Supersuckers, Electric Frankenstein, Black Halos sono tutte influenze facilmente ascrivibili a questo disco. L’ assortito insieme di sfumature presentate permette al lavoro di non ripetersi rimanendo fresco per tutto l’ascolto.
Gli assoli si rincorrono riempiendo ogni spazio disponibile in un tripudio di wah-wah. Il campanaccio abbonda, sempre pronto a lanciare il sing along. Gli incastri ritmici sottolineano il succedersi delle diverse atmosfere. Il piano interviene per sottolineare i momenti più Stooges / MC5 dell’ album.
I cori spruzzati a pioggia su ogni brano instigano l’ascoltatore a prendere parte alla festa dei Turbocoopers.
Conclusioni
La strada originariamente tracciata dagli Hanoi Rocks, che ibridavano senza troppi problemi punk e hard rock, gode di ottima salute. Oggi questa ricetta ha ampiamente trasceso i confini della Finlandia per definire quello che oggi è a tutti gli effetti un movimento globale. Ben registrato, ben suonato e ben prodotto, molto bravi Turbocoopers!

Turbocoopers “Argentinaction Rock” is a true declaration of intent. From South America here is the new face of Action Rock. The latinos offer us a fiery rock and roll son of Scandinavia at the end of the millennium, as much as of classic hard rock.
The Record
Twelve tracks where the references to Backyard Babies, Hellacopters, Gluecifer etc. are clear and evident. Following in the footsteps of those who brought this musical genre into vogue, we find the strong influence of Kiss, This Lizzy, Motörhead etc. The argentines offer part of their repertoire sung in their mother tongue, making them immediately identifiable.
A decidedly punk, almost hardcore, pervades the rhythms of the record
Even if the compositions are always inclined towards a melodic opening. In this work there are echoes of Social Distortion, Ozzy Osbourne, Ramones, Guns’n’Roses, Sex Pistols.
In the same way, everything that happened outside Scandinavia in the same years as Action Rock is evident. Wildhearts, Supersuckers, Electric Frankenstein, Black Halos are all easily attributable influences on this album. The assorted set of nuances presented allows the work not to repeat itself, remaining fresh throughout the listening.
Solos chase each other filling every available space in a riot of wah-wah. Cowbell abounds, always ready to launch the sing along. The rhythmic joints underline the succession of different atmospheres. Piano steps in to underscore the more Stooges/MC5 moments on the album. Rain-sprinkled choruses on each track entice the listener to join the Turbocoopers party.
Conclusions
The road originally traced by Hanoi Rocks, who hybridized punk and hard rock without too many problems, is in excellent health. Today this recipe has largely transcended the borders of Finland to define what is today in effect a global movement. Well recorded, well played and well produced, well done Turbocoopers!
