I Remedy sono un sofisticato e moderno gruppo rock melodico con un forte legame con gli anni ’80, ma con un carattere altamente moderno. Il segno distintivo della band sono le chitarre e le voci energiche con canzoni orecchiabili in una miscela di rock, pop e metal. Hanno decisamente una marcia in più nel modo di suonare e con la sua miscela di rock moderno che rende unico il loro suono. Il nuovo album, “Pleasure Beats The Pain” è uscito da pochissimi giorni ed ha già fatto impazzire i fan della band.

Salve Roland e benvenuto sulle nostre pagine, vogliamo congratularci con la band per il nuovo album appena uscito e per averci regalato altri dieci brani. Ma prima vogliamo farti qualche domanda. Vi aspettavate tutto questo amore da parte del pubblico?
Grazie mille! Siamo completamente sopraffatti da tutto l’amore, gli ottimi feedback e le recensioni che abbiamo ricevuto. È qualcosa che non daremo mai per scontato.
Parlando ancora dei vostri followers, ce ne sono tantissimi anche in Italia che vi aspettano, siete sempre molto presenti con loro sui social. Avete un rapporto molto stretto e diretto con chi ascolta e condivide la vostra musica. Vi piace gestire da soli i rapporti con la vostra fanbase?
La nostra fanbase italiana è davvero straordinaria! Non si può negarlo. Sì, ci piace mantenere uno stretto rapporto con i nostri fan perché sono incredibilmente importanti per noi. Ci aiutano a diffondere la nostra musica e il loro supporto ci permette di fare ciò che amiamo: suonare musica rock, creare album e andare in tour! Grazie a tutti gli ottimi feedback e supporto dal nostro primo album, abbiamo avuto un’energia straordinaria durante la creazione del nostro secondo album. Gestiamo personalmente tutti i nostri social media, quindi ogni risposta arriva direttamente da noi!
Entrambi i vostri album sono accompagnati da alcuni video. Siamo rimasti molto colpiti dallo storyboard. Sembrano dei piccoli cortometraggi dallo stile vintage e un po’ anni ‘90. Come i vecchi video di MTV di quell’epoca. Come mai questa scelta?
Sembrava la soluzione perfetta per noi e la nostra musica. Anche a noi piace fare le cose a modo nostro. Quindi, mentre tutti scelgono il widescreen e l’ultra 8K HD, noi abbiamo optato per un piccolo televisore vecchio stile e un’estetica VHS.
Ultimamente i Remedy sono stati tanto in tour con una serie di date concentrate soprattutto in Svezia. Noi di Rock My Life coltiviamo il sogno di potervi ascoltare presto dal vivo anche su un palco Italiano. Potete dirci se state già lavorando ad un nuovo tour?
Dobbiamo lasciare che la polvere si depositi dopo l’uscita del nostro album, ma dopo ciò il nostro obiettivo principale sarà il tour. Certo, inizieremo dalla Svezia, ma la nostra ambizione è suonare sui grandi palcoscenici di tutto il mondo. Per raggiungere questo obiettivo, l’Italia gioca un ruolo enorme. Non vediamo l’ora di visitare il tuo bellissimo paese!
Torniamo al nuovo album Pleasure Beats The Pain, avete mantenuto la vostra identità fortemente legata alle sonorità Hard Rock anni ‘80 e ‘90. Ma rispetto a “Something That Your Eyes Won’t See” c’è stata un’evoluzione un po’ più tagliente. Dal punto di vista compositivo cosa è cambiato con i nuovi brani?
Le basi rimangono le stesse: il modo in cui scrivo, la fantastica voce di Robert, il mio modo di suonare la chitarra e la mia produzione. Ma questa volta, essendo un po’ più grandi, siamo anche più audaci. Adesso c’è uno spettro più ampio nelle canzoni. La mia ambizione era creare un album con una canzone per tutti!
Nel nuovo album c’è posto anche per la classica ballad. Parliamo di “Something They Call Love”. Una cosa che purtroppo è un po’ passata di moda. Siete anche voi dell’idea che un brano così debba essere contenuto in ogni disco?
No, non necessariamente. Ma questa canzone doveva essere inclusa. Scriverlo è stato per me come una lunga sessione di terapia, poiché è altamente personale. Credo che sia adatto come finale per l’album. Era da molto tempo che un gruppo rock non realizzava una canzone come questa.
Vogliamo ringraziarti per averci dedicato del tempo e per tutta la musica che ci state regalando. Ora dimmi… quale dei brani dei Remedy vuoi dedicare ai nostri lettori che leggeranno questa intervista? Con quest’ultima domanda ti saluto sperando di incontrare presto la band in Italia.
Grazie a voi! Non vediamo l’ora di fare un tour in Italia. La canzone che voglio dedicare ai nostri fan italiani è “Bad Blood”, perché stavo bevendo vino italiano toscano mentre la scrivevo. In realtà, quando ci penso, ho bevuto vino italiano in quasi ogni canzone. Quindi questo album è quasi per metà svedese e per metà italiano! Ahah. Saluti e spero di vedervi tutti presto!

Hello guys and welcome to our pages. We want to congratulate you on the new album that has just been released and for giving us another ten songs. But first, we want to ask you some questions. Did you expect all this love from the public?
Thank you very much! We are completely overwhelmed by all the love, great feedback, and reviews we’ve been receiving. It’s something we will never take for granted.
Speaking again about your followers, there are also many in Italy waiting for you. You are always very present with them on social media. You have a very close and direct relationship with those who listen to and share your music. Do you like managing relationships with your fan base yourself?
Our Italian fan base is truly amazing! There’s no denying that. Yes, we like to maintain a close relationship with our fans as they are incredibly important to us. They help us spread our music, and their support allows us to do what we love playing rock music, creating albums, and touring! Thanks to all the great feedback and support from our first album, we had tremendous energy while creating our second album. We manage all our social media ourselves, so every response comes directly from us!
Both your albums are accompanied by some videos. We were very impressed with the storyboard. They look like small short films with a vintage and slightly ’90s style, reminiscent of old MTV videos from that era. Why this choice?
It felt like the perfect fit for us and our music. We also like to do things our way. So, while everyone is going widescreen and ultra 8k HD, we opted for a small, old-school television size and VHS aesthetic.
Lately, you have been on tour a lot with a series of dates concentrated mainly in Sweden. We at Rock My Life cultivate the dream of soon being able to listen to you live on an Italian stage. Can you tell us if you are already working on a new tour?
We need to let the dust settle from our album release, but after that, our main focus will be touring. Sure, we’re starting off in Sweden, but our ambition is to play the big stages around the world. For us to reach that goal, Italy plays a huge role. We can’t wait to tour your beautiful country!
Let’s go back to the new album “Pleasure Beats The Pain”. You have kept your identity strongly linked to the Hard Rock sounds of the ’80s and ’90s. However, compared to “Something That Your Eyes Won’t See”, there has been a noticeable evolution. From a compositional point of view, what has changed with the new songs?
The foundation remains the same, my songwriting, Robert’s great vocals, my guitar playing and production. But this time around, as we are a bit older, we are also bolder. There’s a wider spectrum to the songs now. My ambition was to create an album with a song for everyone!
In the new album, there is also room for the classic ballad. Let’s talk about “Something They Call Love”. Ballads have unfortunately gone a bit out of fashion. Are you also of the opinion that a song like this must be included on every album?
No, not necessarily. But this song had to be included. Writing it was like a long therapy session for me, as it is highly personal. I believe it suits well as a finale for the album. It’s been a long time since a rock band made a song like this.

Actually, when I think of it, I drank Italian wine through almost every song. So this album is almost half Swedish, half Italian! Haha.
